Cards vs Phillies
GAME 1
Jake Irvin vs Kyle Gibson
Sometimes you are the bug and sometimes you are the windshield. Well today the Phillies were the windshield. Brandon Marsh starts of the bottom of the first with a solo shot. Then in the 3rd inning the Phillies score two runs on 1 hit and a double play and a double steal of home. The Cardinals resorted to Earl Weaver baseball and slugged two homeruns and tied the score quickly at 3, The score remained that way until a one single by KeBryan Hayes scoring the fleet footed Jason Stallings (1-8) then a Bryson Stott double followed by a Brandon Marsh double extended the Phillies lead to 6-3. Brent Suter threw a perfect 5 out save to preserve the Phillies first win.
