The San Diego Padres had another successful season but missed their opportunity to reach the championship in 2024. Things look good this season, and the feeling is that the friars will go far in 2025.
Pitching was the strength of this team last season, and they have a core rotation that features Gerritt Cole, Pablo Lopez and Max Fried. This big three to go with a bullpen led by Devin Williams were a key that made the Padres the number one overall pitching team in the league and there are no signs of a drop back from that.
On offense, Manny Machado has been the core of this lineup for years and will be at the heart of the order once again to provide leadership and plenty of RBI’s.
Overall, San Diego is ready to play. They do have some issues in the draft, having no picks until the 4th round. Regardless, never count this team out of anything and the expectation is still high on the friars reaching the top of the KPSL mountain.
