This year's KPSL Winter Meetings was a total success! It's our 25th Winter Meeting - in a year full of anniversaries! Special thanks to Steve Madonia for arranging the "season-by-season" champion trophies.
Updated rules will be drafted and released ASAP, but here is a summary of the votes we took tonight:
NEW RULE - Starters
For regular season series, a team's 4 starters must be announced in advance of the series, preferably at least one day before the series. Managers can agree to less advance notice as long as they both agree.
- The 4 announced starters includes any "openers" being used
- The order of the starters does not need to be announced
- Roster moves do not need to be announced at the same time
UPDATED RULE - Pitching tired
The league agreed we will modify last year's rule to reduce the maximum number of batters any pitcher can face while tired is 5 batters. We will leave in place the exemption for the last eligible pitcher used in an extra inning game.
FUTURE VOTE SCHEDULED - AL Players
We agreed by a 7-5 vote to hold a final vote on proposals to incorporate drafting of AL players into the KPSL.
- Todd will revise and submit his "ALD" proposal for drafting AL rookie players
- Ed will create a proposal that will detail how a full expansion of the league to include all AL players would work
- Other proposals are welcomed. Please notify Ed/Jim/Sam if you are creating one
Our intent is to publish proposals before the draft, and to vote on proposals as our first order of business on the night of our 2026 draft (March 17)
