Grown men in a basement. Yup, it's strat season.
We met at Ed's Tuesday night for our first mass gathering of the season.
The Cardinals faced the Braves and took three of four.
GAME 1
Pitcher's duel. Big time. Skenes vs. Lugo. Scoreless for five and then Jordan scratched across runs in the sixth and seventh. In the bottom of the seventh Masyn Winn homered to cut the lead to 2-1. Ryan Yarborough was brought in in the eighth and it did not go well. It was death by Contreras. With one out, Wilson doubled, after Lee struck out, William hit a two-run homer to make it 3-2. Iglecias put down the Braves in the top of the ninth and that was that

GAME 2
More dullness. The Cardinals scored two in the second and two more in the fourth. Jordan couldn't do anything against Imanaga and the Cards win fairly easily. Again, the Cardinals pen was strong with just one hit over the last three innings.

GAME 3
Still more dullness. The Cardinals scraped four runs across in various innings. The Braves collected 9 hits but could not plate a single one of them. Six Braves were stranded in scoring position. Twas not good.

GAME 4
For five innings, the Cardinals continued to dominate. Finally, the Braves offense woke up and won their first game of the 2025 season. ATL had one hit before the 6th and then 8 runs over the next four innings. McMahon, Rogers and Perdomo homered for the Braves

So that was that. The Cardinals won the low-scoring games that they need to win if they have a chance this year. The Braves could not break through until the final game.
