Fun Fact: The Padres first series ever in the KPSL was against the Phillies and the Phillies swept them. Since that series the Phillies have been swept by the Padres at least 4 times and have never won more than 2 in a series. To say the Padres have owned the Phillies would be an understatement
GAME 1
Aaron Nola vs Luis Severino
The Padres jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 5 innings thanks in part to a Lars Nootbar two run homer and a solo shot by Randall Grichuk. The Phillies tied the score on a Bryce Harper 2 run double and a Gabriel Moreno RBI single. Onto the bottom of the 11th and Trent Grisham sent the Friars Faithful home happy with a walk off Homer.
PADRES 5 PHILLIES 4 (11 innings)
GAME 2
Javier Assad vs Miles Mikolas
The Phillies jumped out this time with solo shots by Lindor and Bohm. The lead was short lived and last nights hero Trent Grisham went yard again this time plating 4 runs. A Kyle Schwarber triple and a Mike Tachtman extended the lead to 5-3 The teams traded solo shots in the sixth (Moreno for the Phillies and Swanson for the Padres) A solo shot from Ty France extended the Padre lead to 7-4\.. That was all the Padre bullpen would need
PADRES 7 PHILLIES 4
GAME 3
Mike Libertore vs Cade Horton
The Phillies jumped out early on a 1st inning two run double by Bryce Harper. Kyle Schwarber would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth with a two run shot. A two out double by Corbin Carroll plating Augustin Ramirez gave the Phillies a 3-2 lead in the top of the 7th. The Phillies would score 3 more in the ninth to put the game out of reach
PHILLIES 6 PADRES 2
GAME 4
Jacob deGrom vs Max Fried
This lived up to the hype. deGrom went 6 2/3 striking out 5 allowing 1 run. Fried went 7 2/3 allowing 3 hits and 3 runs (only 1 earned) while strking out 6. dEgrom left the game with a 3-1 lead, Enter Randy Rodriquez and just like that a double shy of the cycle the Padres tied the score at 3. This on too was destined for extra innings. A Bryce Harper double and a RBI single by Jose Altuve gave the Phillies a 4-3 lead. That would all Edwin Diaz would need.
PHILLIE 4 PADRES 3 (11 innings)
