Phillies Sweep Rockies Led By 5 HR Performance By Castellanos

The old guard and original members of the KPSL got together for a Little Sunday night strat.
Game 1
Nola vs Steele
Phillies scored runs in the first 5 innings and 6-3 after 5. Added two more on a Jacob Stallings 2 run homer in the 7th and then held on for dear life as the Rockies tattooed the Phillies bullpen. Brent Suter got the save on a flyout by Fernando Tatis (representing the tying run)

Game 2
Suarez vs Snell
Phillies continued their run scoring barrage and held a 9-1 after 6. The Rockies then came all the way back with a 5 run seventh (A Grand slam by Pavin Smith) and a 3 run 8th (Joc Pederson with game tying 3 run homerun) Enter Jose Alvardo and his first pitch fastball was deposited into the right field stands by Bryce Harper.

Game 3
Gibson vs Rea
Phillies scored again in the first inning but this time it was 4 runs on two run homers by Harper and Castellanos. Another 2 run shot by Castellanos extended the Phillies lead to 6-0. The Rockies mounted a comeback on a solo shot by Garrett Mitchell and a 3 run shot by Fernando Tatis, but they wouldn’t get any closer as Matthew Liebratore and Alexis Dias thru 2 2/3 hitless innings ro preserve the victory

Game 4
Scherzer vs Morton
The Rockies scored first and it was their first lead of the series. It was short-lived though as Nick Castellanos hit a solo shot (his 5th homerun of the series) to tie it. The Rockies then take a 3-1 lead on an RBI single by H. Kim and an RBI Groundout by Luis Garcia. The score would stay tat way until the top of the fifth. Charlie Morton would walk the bases loaded and Jacob Stallings would hit a base clearing double of the wall in center plating 3 and give the Phillies a 4-3 lead. Rbi hits by Castellanos (8th) and Brye Harper (9th) would extend the lead to 6-3. Brent Suter pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for the sweep

*** Nick Castellanos was “en fuego” in the series 9-13 5 HR’s 9 RBI’s
*** Bryce Harper came into the series with 1 HR and batting .250 (12-48) He went 8-17 with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s
*** Brent Suter has 7 saves in the Phillies 9 wins. He has yet to allow a run in 7 innings.
