Reds @ Rockies
Every game was close and required a ton of exhausting managing. I fell asleep 6 minutes after it ended!
GAME 1
Reds - 6
Rockies - 4
Reds put up 3 in the 1st with a Walker homer off of McGreevy. They would never trail, but also never quite run away. Delacruz had 3 hits and his own homer. Wacha pitched six innings for the win.
GAME 2
Reds - 1
Rockies - 2
All the scoring was in the second inning. Reds used a pair of doubles to score one. The Rocks would get a 2-run homer from Luis Garcia, who came off the DL and promptly had 3 really good games! Glasnow goes six strong and nabs a win. The 9-game losing streak mercifully ends.
GAME 3
Reds - 8
Rockies - 6
Rockies struck out 17 Reds, which was the second highest total of the series. But it wasn't enough. We also gave up 13 hits, including a pair of homers. We'd hit three homers of our own, but it was not enough.
GAME 4
Reds - 2
Rockies - 4
After 17 strikeouts in game 3, Snell and Ben Brown would rack up 19 Ks of Red's hitters over 8 frames. Whoa! Still, it was not enough to salt things away. The game was 2-2 in the 9th. The Rockies' Butto/Alvarado combo worked out of their half. Tonkin then came in for the Reds, walked Jason Kelenic, and then tried to blow a 4-seamer by Mark Vientos. He popped it out! Rocks get a walkoff win for the split!
Rockies are 13-19, but we'll survive. Reds are 17-5.
