Rockies Hold Dodgers In Check To Take 3 In Sunday Morning Matchup

Right on the heels of one Dodgers series, here comes another.  Dodgers hosting the Rocks.  Three very good games and one snoozer!

GAME 1

Rockies - 4

Dodgers - 3

The Rockies put up single runs in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 6th to build a 4-1 lead for Blake Snell.  Snell walked 5 in 5 innings, but allowed just 1 run.  But things would get dicey when Kyle Leahy let up a 2-out, 2-run bobm to James Wood in the 8th.  Joe Jimenez would then come in and get us to the 9th, but would let two on and get tired.  Jose Butto comes on for Kiner-Falefa, and mows him down to let us escape!

GAME 2

Rockies - 6

Dodgers - 3

The Rocks jumped on Sean Manaea with a 5-hit, 4-run first.  We'd pad that to 6-1, but Glasnow would then give up a 2-run tater to Merrill after a costly 2-out error by Luis Garcia (his 3rd in 2 games!).  We'd take that to the 9th, Jimenez would AGAIN get in trouble, and with the bases loaded and two outs, it's Jose Butto again, this time striking out Trevor Story to seal it.

GAME 3

Rockies - 1

Dodgers - 2

It's worth mentioning that the Dodgers had 4 caught stealing and 2 gunned at home rolls on 20-siders in this series - but none in this game !  And in this game the 20-sider won them the game! Mitch Keller went 6 shutout innings.  Justin Steele only let up 2 hits opposite him, but the dodgers got an RBI groundout in the 2nd.  They also got an Andy Pages homer off of Michael Grove in the 8th, and they'd need it.  9th inning...Porter Hodge in:

Dodgers - 1

The only dull game.  Dodgers go up 1-but the Rockies get 3 in the 4th, 3 in the 6th, and basically cruise.

WP - Lowder  LP - Anderson  HR - Tatis

Rockies are out of the blocks fast and are now 6-2.  Dodgers fall to 7-13, but don't sleep on these guys.  Ohtani will have monster series and they will win games.
